Our series finale presents internationally acclaimed tenor Mark Padmore CBE and pianist Jocelyn Freeman in a beautifully curated recital paying homage to two of Lord Byron’s Dulwich classmates: the celebrated pedestrian Captain Robert Barclay and Major-General John Gaspard Le Marchant. Songs in English, French and German guide us through two stalwart themes of song literature and present a variety of perspectives.
Enjoy a day trip to Dulwich, and join our guided walk through Dulwich Wood at 3.30pm featuring historical facts pertinent to the bicentenary of Lord Byron’s death and his schooling at Dr William Glennie’s Academy in Dulwich along the way.

Guided walk through Dulwich Wood
The guided walk will last 90 minutes, passing several landmarks pertinent to Lord Byron’s life and schooling. Join us for at 3.30pm for the walk or at 5pm at Dulwich Woodhouse for drinks and dinner before settling into an exquisite evening’s entertainment!
Please note that this walk will include steep slopes and slippery paths and may not be manageable for those with limited mobility.
3.30pm: Meet at Horniman Museum at the Main Entrance to the grounds on the South Circular (walkingdistance from Forest Hill Station & several buses stop there). The guided walk will pass via Grove Tavern (site of Dr Glennie's Academy, Lord Byron’s school), Cox’s Walk, Sydenham Hill Woods and Crescent Wood Road.
5pm: Stop at Dulwich Woodhouse for drinks and/or early dinner.
6.45pm: Walk from Dulwich Woodhouse to concert venue (St Stephen’s Church)
7.30pm: Concert start.
